President Xi Jinping put forward: “Innovation is the first driving force for development and the strategic support for building a modern economic system.” 2018 National Mass Innovation and Entrepreneurship Week opened in Chengdu on October 9. Focusing on the theme of “high-level mass innovation and entrepreneurship as well as high-quality development”, it concentratedly displayed the achievements of innovation and entrepreneurship of the country. Premier Li Keqiang proposed that “To promote the mass innovation and entrepreneurship to an upper level so as to upgrade the ‘mass innovation and entrepreneurship’.” The Wanxiang elements shone in the theme video of the opening ceremony.
Han Zheng, member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Vice Premier of the State Council, attended the launching ceremony and pointed out that China’s economy had been shifted from a stage of high-speed growth to a stage of high-quality development and it was necessary to implement the innovation-driven development strategy to accelerate the conversion of old and new kinetic energy and promote the steady growth of China’s economy under the guidance of Xi Jinpin’s Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era.
Wanxiang Group is the only demonstration base of mass innovation and entrepreneurship in the automobile field in the country, and as a practitioner and entrepreneurial representative in the field of mass innovation and entrepreneurship, the elements of Wanxiang appeared two times for 21 seconds in the theme video with a total duration of 3 minutes and 19 seconds and it shone in the Mass Innovation and Entrepreneurship Week. Lu Weiding, Chairman of Wanxiang Group, said: “It was not easy to start a business at that time. My father (Lu Guanqiu) had to hide himself from place to place. Now starting a business is supported by both of the Party and the government.” Then judging from the current situation, he proposed: “Now China’s policy on mass innovation and entrepreneurship is once-in-a-lifetime in terms of the environment and atmosphere, and as entrepreneurs, we have no reason to miss it.”
