Former US Vice President Biden arrived in Chicago on 12th September. NI Pin, member of Board of Directors and Senior Executive Vice President of Wanxiang, was invited to meet with Biden, former US vice president, as well as Durbin and Duckworth, who are United States Senators from Illinois.
LU Guanqiu, Board Chairman of Wanxiang, visited the United States at the invitation of Mr. Biden in July 2014. In the Vice President’s Office in the West Wing of the White House, Mr. Biden said that he hoped Wanxiang could move Fisker’s automobile production line, which Wanxiang had just purchased at that time, back to the United States from Finland.
During the meeting, NI Pin briefed Mr. Biden on Fisker’s return to the United States and the resumption of production in the United States under the name of Karma. NI said that Wanxiang had kept President LU’s promise – investing in and building new green land factory in California. The factory realized mass production one year ago and hired nearly 1,000 local employees. Mr. Biden was glad at the news. Mr. Duckworth also spoke highly of what Wanxiang having achieved.
NI Pin invited Mr. Biden to visit Karma’s factory in California at his convenience. Mr. Biden pleasantly agreed and instructed his assistant to contact with Wanxiang for further details.
