On July 30, the Greater Bay Area Promotion and Deployment Meeting was convened in Zhejiang Province. At the meeting hosted by Executive Vice Governor Feng Fei of the People's Government of Zhejiang Province, Che Jun, Secretary of the Zhejiang Provincial Committee of CPC made instructions and Governor Yuan Jiajun of the People's Government of Zhejiang Province delivered an address. In addition, a signing ceremony for some landmark Greater Bay Area construction projects including Wanxiang’s Battery Project with an annual output of 80GWh was organized at the meeting too, which Lu Weiding attended and participated in.
Building a Greater Bay Area is a strategic deployment made at the 14th Congress of Party Representatives and the 1st Session of the 13th National People's Congress of Zhejiang Province. The Greater Bay Area is considered to be a main carrier for Zhejiang Province to take the initiative to seize the opportunity of a new round of scientific and technological revolution and industrial transformation on a global scale to enhance regional competitiveness, a primary platform for Zhejiang Province to increase opening-up and deeply get involved in "Belt & Road" construction and a focus of Zhejiang Province in fulfilling "high-level construction in two aspects".
Zhejiang Province will concentrate on "four points"--personnel, work, policy and service to mobilize all the powers in the province to construct the Greater Bay Area; Concerning six actions of Great Bay Area construction, Zhejiang Province will enhance planning, coordination, supervision and implementation as a whole with efforts and work together with all units and prefecture-level cities in the province to fulfill "five tasks" including planning some major platforms, carrying out some major projects, expediting some major measures, studying and introducing some major policies, and organizing some major activities to ensure a good start of the construction work in the Greater Bay Area.
With regard to facilitating Greater Bay Area construction by services, a signing ceremony for some landmark Greater Bay Area construction projects including Wanxiang Battery Project with an annual output of 80GWh was organized at the meeting, marking that Zhejiang Province will accelerate planning and implementation of such projects, dynamically administer and effectively follow up such projects.
Wanxiang has taken an active part in construction of Greater Bay Area in Zhejiang Province. Adhering to the philosophy of industrial and scientific innovation and city fusion & development, Wanxiang has kept investing on cutting-edge clean energy technology R&D and industrialization since 1999, as a result of which, an industrial and technological platform of international competitiveness has been founded in Xiaoshan, Hangzhou—Wanxiang Innovation & Energy-gathering City with an investment of RMB 200 billion Yuan and an area of 8.32 km2. As one of key projects of Wanxiang Innovation & Energy-gathering City, Wanxiang has spent RMB 68 billion Yuan on its 80GWh Battery Project in total aiming at creating an intelligent, green and open industrial science and technology highland in the future. The project will be mainly carried out by Wanxiang 123 Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Wanxiang. Upon completion of the project, a world's largest battery making base and cutting-edge new energy technology innovation highland with world influence will stand out.
