Recently, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology releases the 309th batch of new vehicle products, and three pure electric buses of Wanxiang are on the list.
The list of the 309th batch of new vehicle products includes 407 models of pure electric vehicles from 110 enterprises. Among them, three pure electric buses are from Wanxiang, including one pure electric city bus and two pure electric low entry public buses.
Wanxiang New Energy was set up and invested since 1999, and entered the National 863 Program in 2003 to assume the research of pure electric assembly system; in 2007, it undertook the electric vehicle projects of Shanghai World Expo and the Guangzhou Asian Games and promoted more than 1,000 pure electric vehicles in 48 cities in China. Until 2013, it invested in A123 batteries and Fisker electric vehicles in the United States to establish an international electric vehicle industry system. In 2016, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology issued the “Announcement of Road Motor Vehicle Manufacturers and Products (the 285th Batch) ”, in which Wanxiang officially obtained the production qualification of new energy commercial vehicles, and the electric passenger car project was also approved by the National Development and Reform Commission. In 2017, the Karma cars developed and manufactured in California were officially delivered and sold worldwide at 14 dealership points in the United States. Wanxiang has experienced a lot from project inception in China, integration of international resources to manufacturing in the United States and selling worldwide.
Up to now, in addition to the above three pure electric city bus models, Wanxiang has already had 22 commercial vehicle models in the list publicized by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.
