WANG Xinzhe, chief economist of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, led a delegation to visit Neapco and A123 Systems of Wangxiang on 15th April.
Neapco, a company focusing on the manufacturing of aluminium drive shaft, was purchased by Wanxiang in 2008. Since then, the company has kept developing rapidly, enlarging its customers from Ford only to 12 clients, including GM, Chrysler, BMW and Renault. The number of employees has also risen from 38 to near 3,000 worldwide. Such fast growth won the praise of the delegation.
While at A123 Systems, the delegation got an understanding of the global layout, business classification, capacity expansion plan, and the latest trend of product R&D of the company. The leader of the delegation gave high praise to the achievements, world-leading technology, brand impact and influence of A123 Systems in the world during the past year, and meanwhile expressed earnest expectation for the rapid growth of Wanxiang 123 in domestic new-energy automobile power battery market.
